I cannot bear to see you leave

but I’ll never make you stay

I hoped it would have been with me

that love would find a way

Alas I’ve wasted a year of life

and others that could’ve been

But how could I be happy with another

after it’s you I’ve seen

You’ve found your peace, made your home

with someone other than me

But I beg! Don’t leave me here!

I beg you on my knees!

I’m so confused! I’m torn apart!

Only you could do such a thing.

You’ve ripped me open, dissected my heart

and left me sitting…

But it’s not your fault

no, only I’m to blame

I chose to let your spirit into me

and free me from those that forced me tame

You bring out the best and worst in me

a dangerous spell to cast

I thought I’d finally met my match

but in the end, love lost

Love lost its passion, its fire, its zeal

the day you turned your back

Love lost its life, its soul, its all

and you’re not coming back

People sing of love that was

but what of love that never will be

Such a love I know too much of

in fact my tears could fill a sea

Such sheer remorse is usually felt

when a life is taken by force

How much worse should I feel then?

For you leave me by choice

I cannot bear to see you leave

I make ask and beg and plea

but you’ll still go your way
